Hello, I’m Layla Jones  and this is a day in my life living in a informal settlement. So this morning I woke up with my baby brother screaming and my mom stressing I wish this wasn’t always the case I have to deal with in the morning. It’s stressful and it puts a lot of pressure on me. I really want to help my mother but I can’t because my mother says no. If only my mother has all the supplies she needs for the baby. The whole family has to share a bed and it’s not very nice waking up to my brother crying so loudly.    With no breakfast I walked to school and my feet really hurt when I got there I had blisters and muscle strain. I couldn’t even walk out the door for girls soccer at break but my friends were amazing. after soccer we talked a little bit and did “The English and the french “with everyone it was fun but we lost. There was also a child that had to be rushed to hospital because he got cut really badly playing the the rubbish.After that we did math on our chalkboards. I go

The experience i want to forget Hi, I’m Jesse and I have a story to tell. Last week we had a a singing lesson. But this singing lesson was a NIGHTMARE. Mr R came. He’s.  the. WORST. He wears HUGE knickerbockers and thick thick stockings like a hunting man. He has a really round red face with eyes of a blue goosberrys and golden hair at the top of his head .  He is the most hateful man ever . I thought maybe this lesson would be different and fun this time ( I regret that thought ) It was a NIGHTMARE. First he called up Benny and Charles to sing up front . then he said “now you two the long and short you will sing for us “ but they dident even know any songs expect for Pretty Polly . Recently we went to High Africa for our Grade 5 camp. We had a lot of fun and I’m going to share it with you , When we first got there the first thing I saw was the green grass and the beautiful flowers , I was really exited and when we went into our dorms cause we got to sleep on bunk beds . We tried our best to time every second of unpacking and organizing so wouldn't be late for our activities....We were late for our activities everyday but we still did them , The first activity we did was dancing to a lot of different songs the camp instructors made up one was called “The Penguin Dance” And we sang that song the whole time we were at camp , the food was good too like promised .....But on the very second day of camp We had this activity called “The Leap Of Faith” to be honest it wasn’t as high as I thought it was going to be ... So I did it , there was many moments where I said to my self “Nope” but then I did it (in a storm ) with no regrets. I also climbed the rock wall dident

 I was really doubtful about this year. I was nervous and questioning about how this year would go. I heard My Grade 5 teacher Was a funny and amazing teacher and that i believed. I heard the same thing about my Grade 4 teacher and it was all true so i had faith. So far Grade 5 has been great ! i have made new friends (mostly with the boys ) but anyways , my best friend is in my class (shes a girl) BUT I LOVE HER TO BITS we do have little arguments yes, but in the end we realised its not so clever to fight if we wanna make this a good year. Anyways we did our first ever oral in Grade 5 and it was about our Fantasy Creature we wrote about in our Creative Writing book. I did Willow Goddesses it all just came to mind . These are not in a order of Events that happened i am just telling you about it. A week ago we went to Kirstenbotch and it was beautiful and a adventure that i loved.We saw Table Mountain covered in clouds which looked like a table cloth. And we saw flowers

Two weeks ago we went on camp. we went to simonsberg On the way we went to the giraffe  house and the guy that was there hosted a reptile show he showed us the most scary and unbelievable animals i never ever thought i would see in my life.  Okay so first thing I was a python snake it was so long and big i also felt it. it was so weird so i also saw a tarantula and i have arachnophobia so that did not go so well for me. Anyway i also saw a meerkat and many different animals. So the next stop the campsite. So first thing we did was we moved into the dorms i was in a dorm with rosete then we  unpacked or bags so then we had to change into our survival cloths and i was scared     at first but then it was alright we played jasmines crossing they gave us a group and in that group we played jasmines crossing we failed a bunch of times but with teamwork we did it.
